Halton Hills, Ontario – November 9, 2010 - Halton Hills Hydro has chosen Whitecap’s MYHYDROEYE web portal to present TOU data on the web. The utilities goal is to provide their customers with a simple, intuitive, yet comprehensive self-service tool that can help their customers to better understand time-of-use energy consumption, minimizing calls to their call centre when they go live with time-of-use billing. Halton Hills Hydro appreciates the fact that Whitecap’s portal is offered as a turnkey solution in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model with minimal effort and set up time required. They also appreciate the added functionality MYHYDROEYE offers with its iPhone and Blackberry extensions at no additional cost to the LDC or their customer.
“Working with Whitecap to establish our TOU web presence has been very straight forward and easier than anticipated”, said Jennifer Gordon, Halton Hills Hydro, Smart Metering Coordinator. “Whitecap branded the portal to fit with our established branding standards, as well as worked with our CIS system to establish a single sign-on protocol that we did not think was possible. The prediction and alert features of MYHYDROEYE will enable our customer’s to more effectively monitor and to manage their electricity consumption and their costs.”
“Halton Hills Hydro has been excellent to work with”, said Robb Carmichael, Whitecap’s President & CEO. “We couldn’t have hand picked a better partner to work with as our first SaaS customer. They have made some excellent suggestions, which we have incorporated into our solution which all LDC’s who work with Whitecap will benefit from.”
