Whitecap is growing and is actively seeking a seasoned Solution Architect with a background of success and hands-on experience in design and development of Web based business systems - often based on Microsoft SharePoint technologies. The successful candidate will participate in requirements analysis activities and will assume a hands-on technical lead role within Whitecap project teams creating web based business applications / enterprise portals for clients across a range of industries.
The position largely involves requirements analysis, solution design, development, implementation and support of SharePoint and custom .NET web-based systems using:
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
- Microsoft SQL Server
- ASP.NET, Visual Studio, VB.NET, C#
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, AJAX, SOAP
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work directly with clients in gathering and documenting requirements and devising appropriate systems based solutions for these requirements
- Demonstrable skills as a system designer, especially with regard to application user interface design
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise systems involving Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
- Demonstrable ability to assume a technical leadership role in a development team environment
- Solid and diverse technical knowledge and software development skills, especially involving the tools and technologies we mainly use
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and think creatively
- Ability to deliver quality work in a timely manner
Desirables:
- Any of the following Microsoft certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
- Microsoft Certified Professional Developer – Enterprise Applications Developer
- Microsoft Certified Master: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
- Microsoft Certified Architect: Solutions or Office SharePoint Server
- Strong working knowledge of n-tier and object oriented architectures
- Expertise in any of the following products:
- Microsoft BizTalk Server
- Microsoft SQL Server (including Analysis Services, Integration Services)
- Microsoft Performance Point
- Knowledge of UML
Education and Experience:
- University degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- At least three years experience with Microsoft .NET development and seven years of relevant requirements analysis / system design experience
