Woodbine Entertainment Group
Using .NET technology from Microsoft as well as Web services standards, Whitecap was able to design and develop a totally integrated wagering engine in order to provide Woodbine clientele with easy, access to the daily racing cards of all Woodbine’s tracks including Woodbine, Mohawk and Hastings, as well as all other tracks throughout North America, Australia and Hong Kong.
From the comfort of their home or office, account holders can now place bets within seconds of post time. Account holders can also create a "Bet Queue", which enables them to line up a series of bets to be placed at the time of their choosing.
Andrew Macdonald, Woodbine’s Director of Business Development explains, "The Internet is the next logical extension of our product offering."
Mr. Macdonald also went on to say, "We are very happy with the work done by Whitecap Canada Inc., our technical consultant, design and development partner on this project. We selected Whitecap based on their demonstrated expertise in the area of Internet security, complex systems integration and the development of high performance custom Internet-based applications. Whitecap’s excellent project management skills were an invaluable asset throughout the design and development phases of this project."
Robb Carmichael, Whitecap’s President & CEO commented, "Working with Woodbine on this project has been a real pleasure. Horse racing is fun and exciting. I really enjoy it. The opportunity to design and develop such an interesting application, in consideration of the strictest standards of security and performance, made this project both challenging and extremely rewarding. It represents an excellent showcase for Whitecap’s strength as a developer."
